I don’t know why, but initialization bugs never seem to show up on my system but do show up on just about everyone else’s in the world. This is a minor fix for 4.3 which corrects a problem caused by trying to read the server date too soon after login.
Also, I am looking for guilds to help test this release. Remember that 4.3 is not compatible with previous 4.x versions (including 4.3 betas) in order to eliminate the “data modified on another computer” bug. Because the problem is caused by other players altering your data while they pass it around the only solution is to break compatibility so that older versions don’t get to touch your data.
This means your whole guild must upgrade in order to keep getting and posting events, but to show my appreciation to those who take the plunge I’d like to name those guilds who provide bug reports and feedback by naming them in the About tab.
Download now for World of Warcraft Finally 4.3 is ready! This version should, at long last, fix that annoying “your events were changed from another computer” bug but there’s a catch — the bug is caused by other players. This means that if other players don’t upgrade, the bug doesn’t go away. Because of this, 4.3 is deliberately designed not to work with previous 4.x releases of Group Calendar. It will still report version information so that users of previous releases can see that a new version is available, but 4.3 will refuse to exchange data with those older versions.
I’m posting 4.3 here before I post it on Curse and WoWInterface in order to have a small number of brave guilds test it and make sure that everything works properly. Please use the Group Calendar forum here on wobbleworks to discuss problems and report successes with upgrading to this version. Please also include your guild name and realm name as I’d like to give credit to those guilds who were willing to take the risk to ensure that everyone else would have a smooth experience.

A couple of bugs were reported with 4.2, including the major bug that GC 4.2 simply doesn’t exchange data(!!) Here’s 4.2.1 which fixes that — sorry for not noticing the problem but I’ve been testing by myself on the WotLK servers and didn’t notice that I’d broken the comm. code.

This is largely the same release as 4.1, but with the changes necessary for WoW 3.0 compatibility. It has a few additional things like some bugfixes and a new Russian translation as well, but nothing major.

Version 4.1 appears to be very stable — I haven’t received any significant bug reports for a couple weeks now. Next up is waiting for my beta key to check out the new calendar in WotLK to see if Group Calendar has a post-expansion future.

Getting settled into the house is still taking a lot of time, but here’s the next build of Group Calendar 4.1. This one fixes one general bug which happened when someone was sending you an update but the update got corrupted somehow. Instead of simply re-requesting the update previous versions were throwing up an “internal error” message. This could account for at lease a few cases of people not getting up-to-date events/attendance data.
New in this version is a Russian translation courtesy of StingerSoft and an update to the French translation which makes transmute cooldown detection work again, courtesy of Ekhurr. Thanks both of you!
It’s been over a month since 4.1b3 but not a lot has changed. Finally settling into the new house, got internet and phone (yay!), now we just have to finish moving our junk and then get the old house ready to put on the market.
This build fixes a bug which would cause “You are not in a guild” messages to appear after you leave a guild which used GC. There may still be some other times when that message appears (I’ve seen it on logout for example) so I’ll keep looking for that cause.
This also adds support for the Blizzard Time Manager by right-clicking the minimap clock/time-of-day indicator.
Thank you to slayerXcore for reporting a significant bug which caused the class and role limits dialogs to not work. In my efforts to merge the event editor and viewer code into a single module I missed the templates for those two dialogs, thus breaking them completely. Here is 4.1b3 which restores that functionality.
Thanks to Dridzt for the bug reports on 4.1b1, I now have 4.1b2 available for testing. This version fixes several bugs in the new combined event viewer/editor and seems to be pretty stable. Please post new bug reports to the 4.1b2 topic in the Group Calendar Beta forum on this site.
