During development I often disable the synch code in GC to speed up my turnaround. I usually remember to turn it back on before I release a build, but I forgot in 4.4. Without the synch period, users who use more than one computer, or those who have friends/spouses who log into their account and also run GC, will have trouble with their events not following them correctly from machine to machine.
This update is a minor change over 4.4 and should not risk any new problems, so I recommend using it to avoid roaming problems.
One of the changes in 4.4 was to use the Ace LibBabble libraries to handle the localization. Turns out there wasn’t a string for “City of Ironforge” in the lib and so the Around Town script in 4.4 doesn’t work in Ironforge and Stormwind (for a slightly different reason). I was able to make a minor change to Outfitter to make it work correctly with the version the library does have (“Ironforge”) as well as putting in the formal name of Stormwind (Stormwind City).
Lots of changes in this release, including many bug fixes but quite a few new features too. Some of the most notable changes are support for Titan’s Grip in all languages and numerous new PvP zones. Click the “read the rest” link for a complete list of changes.
Sometime, long ago, I put in support for manually-confirmed events. Recently it was reported that it wasn’t working and after looking into it my guess is that it broke about two years ago! I guess most people don’t use manual confirmations or they’ve just been putting up with the buggy behavior (thinking it was deliberate I suppose). Here’s 4.4 which fixes that problem and also fixes a bug which could cause your signup date to get changed if you viewed your attendance while on the standby list. I also fixed some UI cosmetic and behavioral bugs, nothing major though.
I had a good weekend working on GC5 and am making the second preview release available. This one cleans up various bugs in the the View and Edit event tabs and now implements the Invite tab. Next will be the Group tab for putting together a raid, but that’s still largely unimplemented and will give you lots of errors when trying to use it, so just ignore the Group tab for now.
The first preview release of Group Calendar 5 is available for download! I’ve been running this full-time while playing for a few weeks now and it works well. Lots of features still missing, but the ones that are there are working. Click the “read the rest” link to see the VERY IMPORTANT limitations of this build so you’ll understand what you’re getting.
Ace slowly makes it’s way into Outfitter .. I’ve added a couple of the LibBabble libraries so that Outfitter works more reliably for all locales. This version also fixes Death Knight Frost Presence outfits and adds Strand of the Ancients support.
A quick fix which make the minimap menu work under patch 3.0.8.
Here is a new build with patch 3.0.8 compatibility. Blizzard finally fixed the menu system to avoid those taint errors so many addons were experiencing, but they also made some other (minor) changes to the menu system which broke Group Calendar and Outfitter. Everything should be fine again with this build.
This build fixes compatibility with the new WoW patch (3.0.8) and also fixes support for heirloom items.
