A user pointed out that the features of the moon in my display didn’t match the actual moon, and he was right! Somewhere along the way I rotated my moon image and messed that up. It still showed the correct phase, but if you wanted to know which parts were visible and which weren’t it was wrong. Here’s 3.2.1 which corrects that problem!

Download now for Windows Vista

Release Notes

DRAGGING THE GADGET: To move the gadget you must use Microsoft’s drag pad for the gadget, which appears when you hover over the gadget. I don’t know why, but having a flyout on the gadget (the calendar) disables dragging. I’ll keep looking for a solution, but I don’t know how to work around this yet. On user suggested using a double-click instead and that does work, but I don’t like the idea of adding a click to something common like opening the calendar in exchange for making something uncommon like dragging slightly easier. The Calendar gadget that comes with Windows seems to be able to handle both clicks and drags, so I’m going to examine that sometime to see how it’s supposed to be done.

v3.2.1 Changes

- Corrected orientation of moon image
- Added (degrees) note to Longitude field

v3.2 Changes

- Uses accurate algorithm for calculating phases instead of simple approximation

v3.1 Changes

- Optional large moon size (off by default)
- Optional sidereal sky map (off by default)

I’ve released Group Calendar 4.5, which is primarily intended for patch 3.1. This build adds Ulduar (normal and heroic) event types.

NOTE: This build is designed for patch 3.1 and is flagged as 3.1-compatible. While it will work fine on the live servers, it will show as out-of-date until patch 3.1 is released. Use the “Load out of date addons” option in WoW if you want to run this build on the live servers.

Also note that the Ulduar icon will not show up on the live servers since it doesn’t exist yet on those servers. The 3.1 PTR will show the icon just fine, and the icon will show up on the live servers once patch 3.1 is released.

Click the “read the rest” link for the change log

v4.5 Changes

- FEATURE: Added Ulduar and Ulduar (Heroic) event types
- FEATURE: Patch 3.1 compatible
- FEATURE: Edit tab automatically gives keyboard focus to the Title field
- BUGFIX: “Guild Members Only” checkbox no longer shows up when not in a guild

This build also fixes the list of Titles so that it works correctly when you have more than 10. I have a couple remaining things to tweak (limiting the comparison tooltips to five or so outfits for example), but this build seems to be pretty solid.

The big new feature for 4.5 is item comparison tooltips. This feature lets you see items in your other outfit sets when you use the shift key to show item comparisons, even if the item from your outfit is in the bank! This will be great for anyone that routinely maintains multiple gear sets, such as a pvp and pve set, or a healing and dps set, or a tanking and a dps set, etc. Now when loot drops you don’t have to swap gear in order to compare the drops against your other gear.

I also went through my todo list and knocked out several features and fixes from that. Click the “read the rest” link to see all of the changes.

I tried to take my time and really get the event editor fleshed out and debugged for this release so that it would be suitable for day-to-day use for most users. 5.0d3 is the result with the event viewer/editor largely complete, missing only support for guild announcements and auto-confirmations. The Invite tab should be fully functional now as should the Group tab, so please let me know of bugs you find while using those features. The next release (5.0d4) will add guild announcement support and I hope to also get multi-guild alliance support in as well (or at least get a good start on it). Let me know what you think so far (via the forums here on the site please), I certainly appreciate constructive feedback and of course encouragement :)
